Frangokastello we drive to Hora Sfakion. The weather is moderate. A north wind down the mountain and even send a few drops of rain. Heavy clouds cover the peaks. Despite this, it is still too hot.
Fragokastello is on one of the few flat areas of the coast. This is a somewhat desolate landscape. There are especially taverns and hotels. The advantage is to have no one on the beach.
The place features a Venetian fort, the "Desert of the Tartars."
We take the boat to Hora Sfakion. The small port that allowed the evacuation of Allied troops during the Second World War has changed since my visit in 1979 during which we had trouble with the tourist police.
Loutro is a town wedged between sea and mountains. It is only accessible from the sea or on foot. It is traversed by a path that goes around the harbor is 300 meters away and through an alley in the background which must be less than 100 meters. Suffice to say that has quickly made the rounds. However, the village has a certain charm. It includes Cycladic colors: white and blue. The sea is crystal clear.
Be careful boat back is not necessarily the same as on the way there and hand reaches the same place ...
