     Rocamadour

Near Padirac, a tourist at Rocamadour. Perched on a cliff, the medieval houses. Some are integrated into the wall. Many visitors to see this beautiful site. But few foreigners, in any case much less than in Mont-Saint-Michel. Indeed, if one can not compare the two sites because of their location, once in the "main" street in Rocamadour, there are the tourist shops in beautiful old houses. A similar crowd and créperies are replaced by ice-cream. Because it's warm in August.

Rocamadour is built around a sanctuary. A black virgin of the twelfth century is in the Chapel of Our Lady. It carries many cures including that of Jacques Cartier then Quebec. More generally it saves sailors. Roland would have won the toss and sending his sword from Roncesvalles to crash into the cliff. At the time we did not call it the buzz yet, but pilgrims started and allowed this small city, lost on the edge of the mesa to prosper long. Today, tourists are the modern pilgrims and go where it is very beautiful.
