Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère and Terrasson-LavilledieuAlong the Vezere, there are some very pretty villages. We visited both. The area between the Dordogne and Lot is full of the most beautiful villages in France. A jealous make the rest of the country.
St. Leon is a small village with two castles and a church of the XII century on the banks of the Vézère.
The manor of La Salle and dungeon eleventh century.
Very quiet streets lead to the Romanesque church of Saint-Léon. Inside, a blank stone eleventh century.
As for the Vézère its calm waters are muddy swimming spot. The bravest plunge from the cliff. The kids coming out of the water is covered with earth. Even with the heat outside, it does not really want.
Terrasson-Lavilledieu is a small town. The old city and its slate roofs dominate the river.
Little advice restaurants. Most are friendly and offer foie gras, confit and excellent desserts. But these restaurants are very popular and usually full. Unless you get there early or you have booked, you are likely not to eat. It would be a shame, because it is often delicious. And end up in a fast food ...
